FIREALARM!

Another thing the irish seem to be obsessed with, is security. Not only that there are security guards in any ALDI and any other shops, they also wear very funny yellow shining security jackets if they ride their bikes down the corner.
Another thing which is annoying is the fire alarm at DCU:
  • it's loud
  • you have to go outside, and in most cases going outside means getting wet
  • there's one at most every week
  • I've lectures in three different blocks, and in two blocks were already fire alarms, seems to be a question of time...
The reason I'm writing this article, is that there was a fire alarm today, and I've nothing really interesting to report, unless I've joined the volleyball club, first training yesterday evening, it was fun, and flor will arrive on friday!
Stay tuned and safe, tom

Hi Tom, how are you?

Last Saturday, some alarm went off here in Karlsruhe, too. The siren went on for about 5 minutes and then stopped. I don't know exactly what it was, I think maybe we were preparing for the possibility of an irish invasion fleet. But then again, I think all the sheep and leprechauns would have gone completely nuts just hearing the noise, so it might have been something else.

Other than that, I was in the Schauburg yesterday, because the European Outdoor Film Tour was there. I don't know if you've heard of it yet, you can get some information here: www.eoft.de It's basically just a bunch of short Films of Outdor stuff: climbing, skiing, biking and alikes. It was totally amazing, Felix didn't want to come because it was pretty late (10.30pm) but I went there anyway (and had to get up at 7.15 this morning, so I'm a bit sleepy now, but never mind).

Well, as it's still early, I don't really have much to tell you other than the above, so I'll leave it at that for now. Take care,

Ferdi

sheep, leprechauns, shamrocks, harps and alarms are the hallmarks of ireland. if you live here you must get used to alarms as you hear them all the time (exaggeration not included yet).

so never stop fearing sheep and leprechauns as you are never save, especially not with an alarm sounding somewhere. (btw: they come at night!)
