good news

I survived the weekend! But it was quite hard, not that much sleep and 6 volleyball matches, each 24 minutes on saturday, and one on sunday.
I went up there with some girls from the premier division team, namely Beca, Rushelle and Laetitia. On saturday was a fancy dress party in a kind of hotel pub, really awesome, we had all to dress up as cowboys or something similar, it just had to be kind of western style. And I can announce, that the DCU volleyball club is definitely the most partying club which was there. We kept on staying in the pub long after the music stopped to sing and dance. Very funny.
As some of you are perhaps interested in the marks I got for my tests, it was 68%, 86%, 87% and 96%. So I'm pretty happy about it.
Another announcement is perhaps that Martin will visit me next saturday! I have no program yet, but I think we manage to organise something.
Tomorrow morning will be another Volleyball match, against Trinity college, at 10.30am, so I have to cancel at least one lecture to play, but I think there are really worse things than that.

hey there, how are you?

I haven't commented for some time now, so I've got some things to tell you. Let's do this fifo, starting with last weekend. Perhaps Felix already told you, but that won't stop me doing it again :) Felix and me (and two other guys, Marius and Markus) played at an event called "Spot On" last weekend. It practically was one of the worst musical prostitutions we've ever done yet. "Spot On" was some Solo/Background singing workshop, which took place on two weekends. The participants were teenaged girls all of whom (except one) couldn't keep a tune to save their lives... it was horrible. They practically slaughtered "Don't Speak" and numerous other songs (Perfekte Welle, Beautiful, ...). Anyway, we earned 50 bucks for having rehearsed one morning and played the evening and there was free food, too.

Other than that, I broke my glasses yesterday. I just wanted to clean them when I observed that the frame was a little loose. When inspecting the cause of the instability, I broke the frame (I don't think you expected anything else). Anyway, since I have to drive tonight (get back to that in a minute) I didn't want to be stuck with my sunglasses or the scotch-taped other ones, so I went out looking for contact lenses and thought, while I'm there I could also get my eyes checked. Of course, they didn't have the right lenses in the store (I'll get them on monday), but I got free dailies to get me through the weekend.

Now, why do I have to drive tonight? Well, yesterday was my grandpa's birthday and so I'll go home to celebrate, but before that, I'll do the 'Nikolaus' for some kids' group of Meikes'. I always wanted to wear one of those big white beard things :) (kinda like a glimpse of the future *g*)

I think I'm going to go over to Martin's room now, for an hour of freeciv (we're becoming addicts here).

take care, and congrats on your exam results.

See you soon, Ferdi
